Ok everyone, fess up....what kind and what are you putting in your basset's (or all 4 legged childrens) Easter Basket. I had bought 2 "Easter Bassets" from Ohio Basset Rescue filled with 3 diff flavors of puppy biscotti....of course they were eaten before Easter. I am looking for some other good ideas and if I know this group, we will have lots...

Woody, how could you eat all of the biscotti mommy got you before Easter?!?!

There's a "barkery" by where I live that I'm going to stop at and pick up some treats from...And I've already picked up a few toys. Sorry I don't have any really "creative suggestions". A new hat and some sunglasses to get ready for summer?
Do you have a food dehydrator? You could make some yummy homemade treats? I read an article the other day that gave instructions for oven dehydrating too.
Chuck's mom,

That would be great....I do have a few recipes in One of my Basset books on homemade bicuits and stew that I hoped to make for their "easter dinner"....and Woody had help with the Easter treats by his older little brother Victor.....it's hard not to give cookies when he is doing so well potty training and his lessons....he doesn't eat what mom doesn't give him...LOL

This is his first Easter and I guess I just want to spoil him....(can you tell that my children are getting older???? 21, 14 and 12)

Woody's Mom,

It's hard not to spoil them when they are so darn cute!
This is soo funny. I just pulled out all the break apart plastic eggs I could find. I'm gonna put treats in them and do an Easter egg hunt with Annie :) I wish I could afford to go buy her some cool treats, but not this time.

Chuck's Mom, do you remember where you saw the article on oven dehydrating? I'd love to give that a whirl.

We are doing the same with Worm this year-- giving him his first Easter Egg hunt..! we'll be thinking of Annie... well, they are hunting dogs, aren't they? i think we are filling our eggs with duck-wrapped yams. we are also giving some eggs to his doggie friends who live here... chocolate for the kiddies and dog treats for the doggies... hope their parents figure out which is which...!

This isn't the same article I saw last week but very similar...

Hey Esther, I didn't get a basket, either. I got a bite of ham and mashed thetatoes (I think that's what momma called them). Oh, and I got a peanut butter filled dog goody.

Boy, we sure did gipped.
Our dogs only had a little bit of roast beef, a peanut butter smeared biscuit and a new chew bone.

However they did escape the bunny ears this year since momma forgot about them.

ha ha... had to share funny story about this...

we gave 5 easter eggs to our neighbors, 2 had dog treats for the dog Max and 3 had candy for the people... I did warn them, tho i think it was a little chaotic w/the dogs and children. well, the 8 year-old boy apparently tried to EAT the dog treat! not realizing it was for his dog, and told his momma "it doesn't taste good. i don't like it." hmmm... i'm not sure i would like eating Worm's treats either.
:)Worm, that is hilarious.....one of my sons friends tried one of Woody's fancy treats that look like frosted cookies....not sure if he had more than one..LOL.

And Esther, don't worry, I will be your easter basset next year and you can share mine...I also got a real easter egg after mom peeled it of course....

Your pals Woody and his mom:D
I am a bad basset momma. Molly and Winston didn't get a basket. However, Winston needed a bigger collar, so we had a family trip to Petsmart to get one. We met a St. Bernard named Max (Molly liked him, Winston was scared) and each got a chew bone. I guess Easter was delayed here.
