If your dogs tags are starting to fade out, please make sure to get new ones ASAP. Tonight when I came home from work there was a big black lab in my yard. He was very friendly and immediately ran up to me. Unfortunately I couldn't read his tag, so I couldn't call his mom and dad. I walked around the area a bit, but no luck. I ultimately took him to my vet and thankfully he was chipped and his mom was contacted. She'd been very worried because he's an old fella and also upset that they hadn't replaced his old worn out tag. It all ended well and while I can still read Noonies tag, I'm going to get him a new one this weekend anyway.

Funny you should post this. I was just thinking Spencer needed a new id tag! We've had 2 strays in the neighborhood recently. One had a tag & I was able to call the owner. The other, no tag. Luckily a neighbor was willing to keep this dog until someone showed up searching for him - a day later. Both ended happy, but could have been unhappy endings. A tag is such a simple thing that could make all the difference.
