I have a question I hope someone can help me with. Is it normal for bassets nipples to become enlarged and red, after their heat season is over? My 10 month old just got over her first season and now her nipples are getting getting bigger and some are red. She did not come in contact with any male dogs. Is this a possible false pregnancy?

Bassets do experience false pregnancies, but even if we were vets (which we aren't ;) ), it wouldn't be ethical to try to diagnose a particular basset's health conditions over the internet. If the condition is worrisome, your vet is the best person to assess the situation. Is there a reason your girl isn't spayed yet?
