Do they...or don't they????

I haven't seen my little guy in snow yet (got in April) but being in northern Michigan, am wondering how he'll fare in the snow. I'm sure this is a mixed question depending on the dog, but would appreciate any feedback. I love the snow....enjoy being out in it so am hoping he'll pick it up from me. I would think his short legs would be a problem.....are they?:p

Molly doesn't like getting wet, so I imagine she will be anti-snow this year. Though she was a little puppy this past winter and kind of liked it, I see her hating it this year. Winston didn't come to live with me until April, and we really didn't have much snow after that. He doesn't mind rain, puddles, wet grass, or anything...I expect he'll love it.

You're right - different dogs, different reactions. Always fun to watch them discover it though.
Make sure you shovel a nice potty area for him if the snow is too deep. The little legs do cause an issue sometimes.
Boomer didn't mind it the most, unless it was very cold. And yes, shovel a potty area. We didn't at first, and he would "go" on the sidewalk.

I would shovel "potty paths" for my guy as he wouldn't go unless he could get a little walk in.......think Annie will be the same way.......Oh how well they train us  the little legs are an issue, they end up jumping and hopping around otherwise, which I doubt is good for their backs.
This is will be my first winter with a basset somewhere it snows since 1994. Back then, I remember my basset kind of tip toeing through the snow. He hated it touching his plumbing. That was in Oklahoma, and it gets much deeper here. I'll be interested to see how Gandy handles it.

Good heavens! really having trouble putting pics on here...sorry
Charlotte LOVES the snow! She jumps up and down and pushes it around with her nose, so cute!
My two don't seem to mind it. Granted we're in South Carolina where we measure our snow fall in inches and not feet. We'd make snowballs and throw them at Doppler who'd get really really really confused about where his ball went to. It was funny! Snow brings out the extremely playful side in them. They'll be tearing around the yard chasing one another.
Being from Northern Ontario we probably get about the same kind of weather as you do in Northern Michigan but maybe a tad colder! Can't say that Paisley hates the snow but can't say she is enthralled with it either. The first few snowfalls of the year seem to amaze her and she bounds about doing the noseplow thing -- pushing it around with her snout snoffling and sniffing. Once the snow gets too deep we get the "REALLY!!" look when taking her for a walk. She really doesn't like getting her belly frozen as winter progresses and finally at the end of last winter found a coat that gives her more belly coverage. She does hate cold feet ands this year we will make another attempt at trying to find boots that fit. My husband spends a whole lot of times on their walks warming up her toes with his hands. And yes we do shovel a potty area. Our problems is trying to get to the poo before it freezes and becomes welded to the snow!!! Yuck -- nothing like frozen poop!!!
I think Paisleys favorite part of winter is laying on her bed in front of the fireplace. We have a south facing family room with huge windows which heats up quite well during the sunny afternoons but once 5 p.m. hits becomes quite chilly. A 5 p.m. fire is the norm at our house and the fireplace bed gets a lot of use!!!!

That's because the pics are on your computer. You need to upload them to the photo albums here, or to an online photo hosting site.

Baby Molly's 1st (and so far, only) winter. She's intrigued by the snow:

Hope you're right! Makes life easier if she enjoys it, rather than becomes an immovable mass on the porch...refusing to go down into the yard.
Fred likes the snow, because my lab loves the snow, and he loves being around me and the lab, except...... i hate the snow
Henry was from North Carolina, came to Arkansas and found snow and adored it, we found it hard to keep him out! Just had to make sure we dried his ears when he came in
