So Patito seems to be on the mends and I am back to my normal work schedule, this has led to some crying in the crate...Does this mean I need to start all over with crate training?

Also he is in there crying right now and I have read mixed things about this should I keep ignoring the crys until he calms or take him out...before when i fed him lunch he would be in the crate for forty minutes and then he would get to come out to play for twenty or thirty before I head back to work.

This is more likely the issue than suddenly Patito became uncrate trained. A change in schedual can lead to seperation anxiety

wither can work and phylosphically it would seam easier just to ingnore the dog but those that advocate such a technique do not tell about the possible followout that can happen to the human dog relationship but in reality the reasin I do not advocate it is quite simply is is exceedingly hard to actual do. THe majority of humans simply can not help themselves whn the crying/barking gets really bad to give up and let the dog out. and as soon as that happen the appility of the technique to work gets exponential harder because the dog learns if what it doing does not work just try harder and longer

Thanks MikeyT! I am going to start those exercises today. I am also wondering how important it is to keep him on the same schedule on the weekends or since i am hoe more he can be out playing more... As far as teaching him tug of war/fetch do you have an articles about that?

Thanks!!!
