Clear or white fluid from 3 month old

2565 Views 13 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  brandonchatham
We just bought Phoebe and brought her into our family. We have cared for her as our own for the past month. She is now a little over 3 months. Just this last week some really smelly fluid has been seeping from her crotch. It flows only every so often. Maybe twice a day.
Does anyone know what this is and, do I need to take her in?

Thanks.
Brandon

I don't know what it might be but I always vote for a professional opinion rather than guessing. If it were me I'd take her to the vet.

Thanks. I spoke with my wife more about it and she said it is some type of discharge.
She definitely needs to see your veterinarian. The symptoms you describe could be from an infection but she would have to be seen by your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment.
GOOD LUCK WITH THE VET-I WOULD GET HER IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Louie, although a male, had something like that coming out of his penis for months. I asked the vet and she said it was normal male thing to do.

I would have her seen, but not get too upset about it!

What a pretty girl! I vote for vet too but probably nothing big. Welcome. yvonne
Could be uterus infection - I would check asap.
Sweet baby! I hope it's just a normal thing and there's not a problem!
Yes, vet ASAP. The 'really smelly' part is especially bothersome--sounds like there's a possibility of an infection.
We will take her this week. I will let you all know how she is.

Well... We went to the vet, and he said that it might be an infection and we should monitor it. It hasnt happened for a few days, so we will wait and see. If it happens again, then he asked that we get a urine sample and take it in to get examined.

Otherwise, Phoebe is as happy and active as could be. If it happens again we will get her urine sent in for a check.
Thanks to all who gave us advice on what we should do.
