Chloe took a turn for the worse this week. It became obvious that she wasn't just having arthritic pain. She quit eating and last night she began to vomit bile and blood. I took her the vet this morning and she passed quietly and quickly. I miss her terribly, but am glad we had the time with her that we did. She spent 6.5 years with others and the last 7.5 with us. She was filled with spunk, had a wonderful woof, could make off with your dinner in 2.3 seconds and enjoyed a good "basset 500".

I like to imagine she is in heaven with my father, who is feeding her large amounts of sour cream and onion potato chips.

Give your houndies an extra hug tonight from our family.

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this. Their lives are much too short. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
Colleen, I am so sorry to read about Chloe! It always brings so much sadness to me when I read these posts and can only imagine what you are going through.

I know what you mean feeling comfort knowing she is there with your father! We always tell Annie that when she has to go to heaven that "papa" will be waiting for her and that makes the whole idea just a little easier. My dad always called her "nit wit" and she loved being around him.

Know that many thoughts are with you and your family and that Chloe is having the time of her life once again with all the other Basset babies!

Take care!

Kathy
I am so sorry. I think you are right that Chloe is in heaven with all those we love. I know you will miss her more than words can say. I will be thinking of you.
I am very sorry for your loss. I'm sure she is with your Dad getting dip & chips
I am so sorry for your loss... they take a bit of our heart when they leave.
I am sorry to hear about Chloe. I know she's at the Rainbow Bridge with all her friends, both 2 legged and 4 legged.

I am very sorry. Such a lovely little white face...
I'm so sorry to hear of Chloé's passing. I guess it was her time but definitely not yours. We want them to stay with us for ever.

May God bless you and your family for your loss. My wife and I can relate to what your presently feeling and our hearts go out to you.
Thank you for all the kind thought and wishes. They really get their little stinky paws wrapped around your heart, don't they? I keep hearing noies that I think are her and expect to hear her wonderful woof when I come home. It takes getting used to.
I'm so sorry about Chloe, but I know she's having a ball with your Dad loving those chips. She was such a special girl.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Chloe. No doubt she will be in good company as she romps with the others at the bridge.
