What is the best way to pick up a 4 month old basset? Duncan is getting fixed today and I am assuming that I'll have to carry him up and down the steps.
I think because they're so long, you need to support the butt and get an arm behind the front legs. Its all so you don't put a lot of pressure on their back ... If he's just been neutered, I'm wondering if supporting the butt will be uncomfortable for him. Perhaps others will have better suggestions.
Well how we used to carry our hound was: my husband would carry the front and I would carry the back end. Sometimes you have to do that because you surely don't want to hurt their back. Enjoy!!!
