What a surprise to see Bubba's puppy picture pop up on the forum. Must be mental telepathy, because my husband and I were just talking about him this morning. Bogie was chewing on his bully stick and holding it with his paws exactly the same way Bubba did. We sure miss him!
For the newbee's on the forum we lost Bubba to Lymphoma cancer in Dec. of 2005. Bubba was seven yeas old.

Oh that is heartbreaking that you lost him! I loved him and never even got to see him. My first Basset was murdered and I have not gotten over that to this day and it has pushed my self discipline to the limits not to take out vengeance on the person who did it.

Here are some of our favorite pictures of Bubba.

The day we brought Bubba home as a nine month old. He had been shown but out grew his ears
and was sold for pet quality. The show kennel's loss and our gain for sure. He was a wonderful
Basset.

Bubba and his favorite chew.

He loved his tennis ball and would carry it around like this.

The picture we used on our 2005 Christmas card for the forum card exchange.

My favorite Bubba picture is the one of him in his Sherlock Holmes coat and boots-if I remember correctly, he wasn't happy about the boots from the expression on his face- any chance of posting that one again?

Do you have Bogie the Hound that goes on trips in the Motor-home?
Thanks for the Bubba pictures. I am still learning which folks go with which Hounds here. If you have Bogie then the picture of him sitting next to your husband going down the road in the MH is one of my favs---and is he one of the rock biters?

Don: Yes, we have Bogie, the rock eating Basset, who has had two surgeries as a result. Bogie is our traveling companion in our motorhome, logging in over 9,000 miles last year from Arkanssas to Yellowstone and Montana. Bogie is actually Bubba's nephew. Bubba and Bogie's mom were from the same litter. When we lost Bubba his breeder told us about Bogie and said we could have him if we wanted him. Bogie was ten months old when we got him.

Murraysmom: Here is the picture of Bubba with his boots and coat.

Marcia: Here are two pictures of Bubba with the tulips in our back yard.

Those are great pictures. The second tulip one is great. I love the look of "alert ears".

I would never dare offend anyone on purpose but Bogie and your husband look as if they have become the same person.....does that make sense to you? I have always heard that long time husbands and wives, or whatever the modern trend is these days, begin to favor. I am not sure how it can be possible for us and our Bassets to begin to favor but it is very apparent in that picture.
Bogie is a very beautiful, navigating, rock biting, Hound!

My husband would take that as a compliment, since he thinks Bogie is a very handsome Basset!!
