My young bitch, Caper, won a 3 pt major today at the Terry-All KC in Denver, to finish her conformation championship! :) She's just 19 months old and has been owner-handled the whole way. Not one to rest on her laurels, she's bound for northern California next week, for a lesson with her hotshot obedience trainer. Onward and upward! ;)

Way to go Caper and Betsy. You must have been thrilled. The Terry-All shows draw entries from all over the Intermtn, Mid-West and So. West regions and offers some tough competition. Congratulations!

i have a standing joke going on with my Uncle that when he enter's a dog when i'm judging a hunt test or a AHBA hunt that if it is a red and white dog it will fail.there are a lot of good dogs out there and color does not matter at all.Raider's mother was a red and white, and she was a rabbit running machine.Ike's sire is a R & W also, but i didn't hold that against him,he can run rabbit good and i liked the bitch's bloodline on the mating so that's why i got him, thankfully he was a TRI!!!!!!!

I remember when I was helping a breeder friend whelp a litter (my black male bred to her black bitch) she went running into the bedroom where her husband was sleeping with this puppy wrapped in a towel, saying "oh my god, Oh my god...." Well my heart just flipped figuring the puppy had some kind of awful deformity. Well I was close, it was red and white. :D

If you hang around with a bunch of basset breeders you'll find this kidding about black or tris versus red and white. Some people get offended thinking it's serious but it's mostly in jest. If you've got a BIS quality dog or a Grande FC potenital no one's gonna care that's it's not the right color. ;)

Beautiful girl, Betsy. I really like the Bugle Bay dogs.

Guess I must be weird, I don't care much about the color, I have both red/white and tri.

Actually, I did used to prefer tri. When I went to look at a litter to choose a pup, there were both reds and tris, everyone expected I would choose one of the tri girls but SURPRISE! I came home with a red and white.

I'd really like a black, but I haven't yet had one good enough to keep.
