Thank you, Betsy. I did all of this last night and it's not bleeding today. I have the triple antibiotic ointment on it, with a Curad Super Bandage ...for knuckles! 
That's the only thing that I could get to stay on. He doesn't seem to be aware of the bandage or bothered by the boo boo this morning. I think I'll take him to the vet this week, rather than pay for an emergency room visit. That is ...unless it starts bleeding again.
I think I aggravated it with his bath yesterday. I dried his paws so he could come back inside. I wanted the babies clean and good smelling for our company last night
