When Winston had his surgery, they told me not to let him run and jump. I stifled my laughter. My little boy is so energetic! I took him home, sans cone of shame, and let him do what he felt he could do. He didn't jump on the couch...so I helped him up. Carried him up the steps on potty breaks if he was feeling sore. Before I knew it, he was doing everything he always did prior to the neutering. I never had to use the cone, as he only bothered his stitches a couple of times and stopped when I scolded him.

Perhaps I am in the minority, but i have always had the attitude to let nature guide them, but keep a watchful eye. Never had an issue with any dog or cat I ever had :)

Anyway, get well soon Bertie! And be a good boy!

Hank has been licking his A LOT the past couple of days. took an extra good look at them earlier and saw inflammation and a lot of redness around his stitches. Since I've had the trouble of infections before, I knew what kind of pain he must be going through. Just got back from the vet with anti-infective pills.

My poor bubby. :/

Yes, Worm, I had pink stitches. Poor momma was mortified. Jus' cuz they took away my equipment, doesn't mean they had to give me pink stitches.

Awww, poor little Hank.
