So I read here often, but don't post much. Sadie is doing wonderfully (pics to follow) a healthy seven month old, ears are all cleared up, teeth are shiny now, and she has finally made it to twenty pounds!

I have a question though. She keeps getting this line of reddish colored dirt down her stomach, where there is a little fold when she lays on her side. It comes off with a gentle scrub with a baby wipe and remains red colored there. She does not have fleas, ticks, or worms. Is this a normal bassett hound thing? She isn't itchy now that there is no corn or wheat in her diet, and everything else is normal.

Here is my pretty baby girl.

It could be yeast-your vet could tell you for sure. Murray has yeast problems, especially in his front armpits. I get Malaseb from our vet and wipe his problem spots every morning. That helps to control it.

Sadie is such a pretty girl!

I've read somewhere (it may have even been this forum) that yogurt is suppose to be really good for treating yeast infections and other types of bacterial infections. By the way, your dog is really cute.

Sadie gets yogurt with at least one meal per day because it seems to help with her gassiness. I will talk to the vet about possible yeast on her belly. If it were yeast though, would it be itchy? She doesn't act like it bothers her in the least, it is just unsightly.

P.S. Thanks everybody for saying she's cute. Unfortunately she knows it too! lol
