Boomer and I were driving home from errands today, and the song, "Jungle Love", came on with whistling at the beginning, and Boomer was looking around wondering who was whistling at him.
So, when I got home I looked up the lyrics and rewrote the song for bassets. Believe me, I'm not giving up my day job, and Weird Al has nothing to worry about.
"Basset Love" - a parody of "Jungle Love" by the Steve Miller Band.
From the moment I saw you
You instantly stole away my heart
I brought you a box of dog treats
They didn't last long from the start
You probably don't remember
I sure know I can never forget
Basset love in those eyes and ears
That tongue and drool sure were wet
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy...
We brought you home as a young pup
We never left you alone
You cried and you cried the first night
While I tossed and I turned and I moaned
I questioned if I was crazy
For getting a basset pup
But the answer was right there
I couldn't deny I did care
So much for this bundle of love
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy...
You wormed your way into my heart
You captured my mind and my soul
From you, I could never part
You have helped to make me whole
Oh no, what have you done?
Peed on the floor yet AGAIN?
I can't stay mad, you are so fun
My sweet furbaby, my friend.
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy...
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad,
It's makin' me crazy
Basset love, it's drivin' me mad
It's makin' me crazy...
