"I don't know much about this breed, but know it's considered a rare breed." yes it's a rare breed, there are between 50 -100 in the USA

How did you get involved with Bleu de Gascognes?
I had Bluetick **** hound, and read about the BBdG's in a magazine. took 12 years and a trip to France to get my 1st pair. that was in 2000

I've never seen one.
Most people ask me ......what kind of cross is that........and ..my **** hound friends ..... ask if I could not afford a whole hound...lol

I'll try to answer questions

1. purpose of post was only for information, and to show the color change of the pups...........not a sale's pitch
2. I've read this forum a lot, but post rarely
3. Ive seen past posts about blue bassets, and questions about off colored "basset hounds" and just wanted to share the true color of a BBdG this litter does that.
4. Mikey T.........."Corkey" is a dam's name, Corky is a sire's name.....lol
5. I do believe I'm the only one with a litter in the USA, that said, I do not consider myself a "Breeder" I do have a litter every few years, just for keeping these hounds for myself.
6. the BBdG's is a breed recognized by the UKC and not by the AKC.
I've imported 5 from France to keep a viable gene pool for myself, and am willing to help others do the same.
7. lastly, if you are interested in this breed, be cautious, there are people out there, saying they have these dogs but do not. they are scamming for deposit money, because of the rarity of this breed.

hopes this helps

That puts me in mind of the time we had our first Basset with us on holiday up in the Lake District (UK). We happened upon a Fell Trial meeting and the old boys with their Fell Hounds went into stitches at our Basset, making similar remarks about where were 'is legs. BUT we were offered a significant sum of money for him, at a time when the going rate was around 12 gns. Needless to say we smiled politely and declined. :D

I love the Bleu although I'm not sure I'd really want one - just love heavy ticking.

I'm fascinated with this breed, I did speak to a breeder about getting one some 20 years ago but the timing has never been right. Someday......

LOL if I was a breeder, questions such as like the colour, how much, would be a red flag.
