I guess you could say I provide Dixie and Stonewall with shelter.... but they just sit on it.

bird watching (they LOVE chasing birds out of the yard)

They love sitting on the storm shelter and playing "king/Queen" of the mountain

Ditto how cute they are. Pretty funny how Bassets like to seek high ground. Moe likes to stand on a large rock in the front yard. It's big (about four feet across) but only sticks out of the ground about a foot. :D He looks very regal, as if he's king of all he surveys, IF you can overlook that fact that he's not even high up enough to see over the huckleberries. ;)

Storm shelter? Do you get tornados?

How cute! Our Jake likes the high ground too... the top of his dog house... the top of the deck box... the top of the kitchen table...

I haven't been up here long enough to see one. But I know there was one a few blocks over from us a few months ago... Now I've just got to train the pups not to be scared of going IN the shelter. They freak out when I try to get them inside of it...

Two Bassets look so good together. We want to get a second one as soon as this one is trained and of course we buy a bigger place. But this two are so cute...

A lot of us have 2 or more, and I've never heard anyone say the second one was a bad idea! As long as you can afford the additional vet, food, and toy bills, I highly recommend 2 bassets. Perhaps even more, but I only have 2.
If you think one basset is funny, the antics of two will leave you howling! (pun intended) :p

Try tossing in a couple of hotdogs and they'll go right in. ;) Just make sure to step out of the way or you'll be knocked on your tush!
