When I out the URL of a pic for an avatar in the address box and click "select this avatar" the picture appears in the avatar box. However, when I post something there is no avatar. any suggestions ?

Try using Photobucket instead of Snapfish.

Are you then clicking on the button at the very bottom? That's the one that saves your new profile.

Betsy is so right! I was wondering why Maggie Mae's Bday photo wasn't being locked in. Guess what, I was forgetting to click at the bottom of the page to update profile!!
