Hi, I'm mom to Clem, an 8-yr old, and Sally a 5-yr old. They both came from the Ontario Basset Rescue group.

Glad to have found this board, already, I've learned a lot. Clem has severe arthritis and we're having trouble keeping him comfy and happy.

Once I read the FAQ on posting pictures, I'll get some up.

Introducing Miss Sally Wiggles:

We got Sally last fall, she's 5 or so, and only weighed 18 lbs at the time. She now is a happy 45 lbs. Still has accidents in the house, but they are usually close to the dog door, so I know that she tries. We love her sooo much. I wish she was less meek, but her early years were filled with anger towards her. Now, she asks me if this is heaven, and I say no, Sally, it's Toronto. (channelling Field of Dreams).

Glad to have found the board, I'd love to hear about your guys!

and introducing Clem E. Bear:

We rescued Clem 6 years ago, after having fostered an epilectic lab who jumped on everything. Having no experience with bassets, indeed, having never even seen one, I thought they would be a great breed because their legs were short.

Little did I know how labour-intensive, how lovable, how funny and endearing the breed was. Got the basset bug from then on, and my husband and I will be boosting basset butts into the back of the car until we are in our eighties I'm sure.

Great looking hounds, and thank you for rescueing (sp?). So many dogs go without forever homes or are in bad situations. Yours are very lucky to have you.
