Hello everybody, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my 17,3 years old basset hound - Amon.
Exchanging experiences and informations would be highly appreciated. We (Amon, and his human family) are living in Belgrade, Serbia. Amon has problems with arthritis, bad eyesight, gastritis, hearing and occasional skin tumors. But, hi is still full of life and eager to have some more bites of it.

An amazing age, having recently lost our older boy at just into his 13th year & probably having to make another call in a couple of weeks, I'm green with envy. He looks amazing.

Our Bassets certainly seem to be living well beyond the normal 11 years that used to be the average length of life for the breed. Most of mine managed to get into their 'teens' (13th and often 14th years) although we did lose a few, to cancer, earlier.

Hi my name is Candace. I found my Bassett Fred 12 year's ago. He was estimated to be 5 years old then. He was my first Bassett. And I have fallen in love with the breed. He survived anal cancer, a broken toe, fatty tumors, some arthritis, his vision slightly failing. My beloved Fred suddenly took sick August 21st, 2016. He passed away at 10:15pm. He was a one dog comedy act! He was funny, loving, and very spoiled. He was my prize. My home is so lonely without him. I do have a 14 year old blue healer cattle dog, and a 5 year old blue tick hound. All my dogs have always been rescue dogs. I hope someday I will rescue another Bassett. That will probably be the only breed I will have in the future.
