Mikey T cites studies on the above thread which compare the effectiveness for fleas and ticks of major brands of flea control products, including Advantage, Advantix, Frontline, and Frontline Plus.
My personal experience:Murray was on Advantix for a year and we were happy with it. When I started him on it the second year, after a winter break of 2 months, he had a horrible allergic skin reaction(no nausea, just a really bad itchy rash) - he's been back on Frontline for a couple of years now, even though I personally don't think Frontline is as effective.
