Advantage Flea Control Side Effects ...Quick Question

1272 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  murraysmom
Have any of your hounds had side effects, specifically nausea, from switching to Advantage flea controll? This stuff killed the fleas immediately but Belly has lost his appetite for the past couple of days. Of course, he'll gobble a treat ...but he's leaving food in the bowl. Dixie seems fine but slept a lot the first day.

Thoughts?

There was another thread recently about flea/tick control products:
http://www.heatherweb.com/cyberhound/board...mp;hl=frontline
Mikey T cites studies on the above thread which compare the effectiveness for fleas and ticks of major brands of flea control products, including Advantage, Advantix, Frontline, and Frontline Plus.

My personal experience:Murray was on Advantix for a year and we were happy with it. When I started him on it the second year, after a winter break of 2 months, he had a horrible allergic skin reaction(no nausea, just a really bad itchy rash) - he's been back on Frontline for a couple of years now, even though I personally don't think Frontline is as effective.
