I was thrilled when my regular vet, who owns the practice, hired this basset owning veterinarian. Actually she hired another one with two bassets a few years ago, but she's since left. I think my vet is a closet basset lover. ;)

Actually I think I stole it from Dave Barry, who has wonderful insights into dog IQ's or the lack thereof.

All of the Bassets grrrls I've owned (4) have been brilliant. All of the Lab boys I've owned (2) have been loveable, loyal boneheads that would do whatever you asked. I liken Labs to privates in the Army. They follow orders without question: not smart, just following orders, SIR! Basset grrrls are stinky divas, love 'em!! I also collect children's books with Bassets. The BEST (though not a "children's" book) is Boswell's Life of Boswell. Take care all, Belinda.

Thanks for the basset book tips. yvonne
Be sure to include that the genius was still there :)

I don't know of much fiction that focuses on a basset I will be buying it. I think you got your first few sold right here right now

Thanks, that's good to hear. I'm sending the sequel to my agent today--hopefully the publisher will like it as much as the first one. I'm starting on the third one in February.
