So the wifey and I had an anniversary and we decided we wanted to take Woofus with us. So we were planning on going to the Napa area (Boonville to be exact) and we were looking into dog friendly places. We found one that was out in the wilderness but fenced in. When we booked they told us that we could bring up to 2 dogs. So we had a great idea.......call Daphneyland (the rescue we volunteer at and where Woofus is from) and take another dog on vacation with us. So we grab Snoopy cause he's had a tough little life. We had a great time, and long story short we're serious foster failures. We adopted Snoopy so Woofus could have a buddy. :) I mean can you blame us????

A little about Snoopy. He was left neglected in a backyard as a pup, and got bored and ate a rock. The owners didn't care, and just dumped him at the shelter. Daphneyland got a call, and they picked him up and took him straight to surgery. He ended up getting 4 feet of intestines taken out. It gets pretty graphic so if you want to read more check out his firstgiving page here-- Snoopy-Tu's intestinal blockage
He's had problems keeping on weight so we took him on since we home cook for Woofus and can give him a special diet. He's a very long and tall basset and should be around 65 lbs, but he way underweight. This is why we rescue, so rewarding. Check Snoopy out in the photo gallery :)

Poor puppy indeed! I'm glad you guys were willing to take this dog on vacation with you and ended up adopting him. I hope he's fully recovered from his experience with the rock.

Cousin Woofus-- how great to hear about the nice addition to your family! Snoopy seems like a good big bro so far, from the pictures. He looks very big!!

Wonderful of your people to adopt Snoopy! We actually read about Snoopy last week when we were looking at the BHRSC Basset Games website (and we PM'd you to see if you might be going on June 18th to their fundraiser, don't know if you got that yet)... felt so bad for poor Snoopy and everything he went through. And we still need to donate to Daphneyland and were thinking of sending some funds to Snoopy (sorry we have been slow to that), so we were checking out the site, actually. so we were really excited to see your news tonite!

Is Snoopy all better now? We hope so. keep us posted on your adventures...

Thanks everyone. All the credit goes to Dawn for saving him...I'm just picking up the slack and gonna get him up to weight. :) It's been very rewarding seeing how happy of a pup he is (yes pup....time to train this guy).

Hey Wormie Worm,
--Not sure yet if I'll be there but I'll let you know. If I can't make it maybe we can meet up at one of our 7 doggie parks in Long Beach.
--Thanks for thinking about donating, she can use all the help she can get. She spent every dime she had on keeping Snoopy alive, so now we're trying to help out.
--Snoopy's doing very well. It's just gonna take some time to get him to proper weight....but he's active and happy :)
