to CyberHoundThe following mailing lists are specifically devoted to topics of interest to basset hound owners and admirers. Once you subscribe, mail from the list will appear in your mailbox on a daily basis. Initially, you'll receive a message from the list's moderator explaining the rules of the lists and the commands necessary to send messages of your own. If you're new to a list, it's a good idea to lurk (read without writing anything back) for a day or two, just to get a feel for the flavor of the list. Once you feel comfortable, post an introduction and let people know who you are and why you wanted to join the group. After that, sit back and enjoy the fun!
Basset-L is an email list devoted exclusively to the basset fancier. To subscribe, follow these directions:
To begin receiving BASSET-L Email, send a message to:
listserv@apple.ease.lsoft.com
with only the following text in the body of the message (the subject of the message can be anything you want):
subscribe basset-l YourFirstName YourLastName
Be sure to replace YourFirstName and YourLastName with your real name (not your alias or handle). Be sure to delete or not include your signature when sending the message.
You will then receive a conformation message to your Email account, all you have to do is reply to the conformation message (leaving the subject), delete any text in the body, and put only:
ok
in the message body (again, be sure not to include your signature).
When the list server receives your conformation, you will begin receiving BASSET-L Email. You will also receive a welcome message. You should read and save this message. You can now send an introduction message to the list by sending a message to:
basset-l@apple.ease.lsoft.com
THE DAILY DROOL debuted in April of 1995 as the first all-basset internet discussion list.
To subscribe to THE DAILY DROOL, send E-mail to:
dailydrool-request@blazenet.net
type exactly:
subscribe dailydrool firstname lastname
(inserting your first name and last name in the appropriate place)
Once you are subscribed, all postings are sent to the list address:
dailydrool@desupernet.net
Since the Daily Drool is a smaller, more personal list, they encourage the body of your message to contain an introduction of you and your basset hound(s).
