The following mailing lists are specifically devoted to topics of interest to basset hound owners and admirers. Once you subscribe, mail from the list will appear in your mailbox on a daily basis. Initially, you'll receive a message from the list's moderator explaining the rules of the lists and the commands necessary to send messages of your own. If you're new to a list, it's a good idea to lurk (read without writing anything back) for a day or two, just to get a feel for the flavor of the list. Once you feel comfortable, post an introduction and let people know who you are and why you wanted to join the group. After that, sit back and enjoy the fun!

(inserting your first name and last name in the appropriate place)

Since the Daily Drool is a smaller, more personal list, they encourage the body of your message to contain an introduction of you and your basset hound(s).
