I have a six year old basset hound who had puppies about six-seven months ago and we thought she went in heat about two months ago because she had light bleeding. Now she's having heavier bleeding and she keeps shaking and trying to attack the one puppy of hers that we kept. If any one knows whats going on please let me know. I'm most concerned about her constant shaking.

Aww poor girl... I can't imagine a Basset trying to attack any dog, far less a puppy of her own... so maybe mum is in pain and not feeling well, causing her to do something out of character, as we humans sometimes do when not well... Her puppy is probably wanting to play and mum can't be bothered!

Why don't you take her to your vet as he/she will be better able to tell you, just in case it's anything serious for which treatment my be necessasry. Please come back on here to keep us informed because sometimes people come on and pose a question, then we don't hear the outcome and we all worry about each other's Bassets!
