We are kicking ourselves, because we let him out in the yard without his muzzle, called ourselves watching him carefully, but some how Bogie swallowed another rock. After his supper last night he started turning in circles, laying flat on the foor on his tummy and stretching way out like he did before. We called the vet at 5:30 PM, told her how he was acting, and also told her we had changed his food to Innova the day before. She told us to give him two slices of white bread and to see how he was in a couple of hours. Second call to vet at 9 PM, at times he was acting fine, then the stretching and circling, so she had us bring him in for an x-ray at 9:30 last night. There it sat in his tummy, a small round rock.

The hope is we can avoid the third surgery (for you new posters Bogie had surgery last June for a rock lodged in his intestines he found on a camping trip, and a repeat in September found at the back of the house after the cable guy laid new cable) and he will be able to pass the rock. So he is on slices of bread, baked sweet potatoes, brown rice plus his regular food in hopes this will bind with the rock and pass through. So we will be inspecting poop and keeping him at home unless he starts vomiting, has runny stools, and she showed us what to watch for on his gums.

So we could really use some healing drool right now.

Lots of drool for Bogie! Poor baby - I'm sure he is so uncomfortable. And poor you for having to go through this again.

We have all pawsies crossed that he'll pass that nasty rock and not have to go through surgery again!

Oh no, poor Bogie. I hope he will pass that rock on his own very soon.

That is really something, the way he can grab a rock like that before you even know it's happening. Try not to feel too guilty, they can be so clever some times.
