We are considering a possible move across country for a new job. In our family discussion regarding the potential move, with special sensitivity toward our 9 year old daughter, we were discussing the concept of making a new home somewhere, trying to reassure her she would make friends where ever we move, and that home is where you take your shoes off.

"Not for me", she replied. "For me, home is where my dog is!".

Oh for a child's perspective on the world.....

Smart daughter you have there. I had a 40-something-year-old man say almost the exact same thing to me when I was weighing the pros and cons of moving across the country last year. He said "home is where the hounds are", and it kinda stuck with me.

"Out of the mouths of babes eh?" Nice sentiments.

I'm afraid for me right now it's " Home is where the FLEAS are!!!!! " as I've just found one on the couch.
