Happy gotcha day, Snoops!

It's exactly 2 years today that I picked up my little Snoopy Basset.

He was 16 weeks old, and the last to leave the litter because no one wanted him because of his colour. His brothers and sisters were all tricolour, there was one other "ghost" in the litter, but she'd been taken only the day before we went to lok at Snoops.

We've had 2 years of basset-hell with him - he was our first basset, and we've never known a dog be so strong willed and stubborn.

He has a wide variety of moods, and was so hyperactive for the first 18 months.

But in the last few months, it's as if he's grown up over night. He's slowed down a lot, is a lot calmer, and we're starting to miss his puppy antics. It's as if he's gone from being 6 months old to 60 in the space of a month. (he's been checked out by a vet, and we were told he's in fantastic condition - perfect shape / weight etc). He's also suddenly gone from being a skinny wretch to being all muscly - he's 50 lbs of beef - built like a tank!

But he's still my big sloppy pajama-case dog!

I think Snoopy is a gorgeous guy and should have been picked first out of his litter. Lucky for you that he didn't!

You know what they say Snoops....life begins at 2

Kezzy just imagin how slow and lazy he might get a 10 if he's slowing down already at 2! You'll have to drag him out for his walks!!!

Rupert and Precious say happy gotcha day to Snoops.Rupert also says that he is nearly two and is still hyperactive and naughty and has no intention of settling down until he is old and grey

Happy Gotcha Day Snoops!! Baxter hasn't been too bad yet so I'm hoping he won't be a reverse of Snoops! He's only 5 months old and has yet to go to obedience school, so he has a lot to learn, but so far he's seems open to it. And, by the way, I think Snoops is a very handsome little fellow - lucky you that he hadn't been chosen first.
