slept through the gifts

I was a bit worried how Sadie & Max would handle the unwrapping of all the gifts, but as you can see they slept right through it. Max did get a little skittish later when more of the family came; he ran and hid under the table. When I did get him out he was really shaking. I just sat with him and pet him until he stopped shaking. I guess it was just too much holiday for him.

Sadie looks a littel disturbed here, they are sleeping on my daughter as she tried to open her gifts.

The purse is one of my favorites. I went out today to do a little after Christmas shopping today and got several compliments on my purse.

We have that too, and while it IS great, it's not a comforter, more of a throw, or whatever ya call those small blankets that just fit over a chair/half the sofa. Please cut me some slack for not knowing the proper term, I'm a guy here! I'm not supposed to know things like that!

I have to get a picture, but we got a set of Basset salt and pepper shakers. One is a black tri-color, a lot like Dudley, and the other is a red & white, much like Minnie! And get this, they have magnetized noses so you can put them together in a perpetual kiss!

Dag, I think my testosterone must be low today or somethin, this is a very girly-man post!

My Dad took this pic in early fall, and had it put on a coffee mug for me as a Christmas gift.

corvuss, you're right, it's a throw, not a comforter. A comforter would be like something big enough to put on a bed. While I knew that, I never realized I kinda used those terms interchangeably. But then again, us Cincinnatians have strange ways of talking, like saying "Please?" when we really mean "What did you say?"

Nevertheless, I really like it!

Just something to consider Petting the dog when he is shaking for most dogs is rewarding the shaking behavior and in the end you are likely to get more. Just as it is advised not to comfort a dog that is afraid of thunderstorms or large noises. It is very much a human reaction to the circumstances to comfort the frightened it just happens to be a foreign reaction in dog language.
