Why does Alfie always pee on a slope and let his ears soak it all up?
The same with poo! He does his business then has to sniff it and let his ears slop all over it Is it just my dog or the same with all Basset's???

SNAP! although he's just a pup so he's still sussing stuff out.
There ears get so dirty and smelly at times. just make sure you're always drying them off. i even give them a shampoo every now and then! |

Francis is 7 1/2 years old and he STILL pees on a slope. It puts me in the nuthouse.
As for sniffing his own poop...two words: Baby Wipes. As soon as we get in from our stroll I rub 'em varmints down with unscented baby wipes. Too convenient not to, in my own humble opinon.

Alfiesmum, I couldn't figure out at first how his ears would get wet peeing on a slope, until I realised that he would have to be walking down it rather than up
Never considered that before. My advice would be to keep him on flat ground
