Here is a link to WJ pic's http://webpages.charter.net/wjpics/
WJ is now about 3 months old and weights 17 lbs WJ is going to be a inside outside hound, housebreaking is still a work in progress, its been hit and miss. WJ when I let him out free, not in his outside pen,he will wander. WJ does like to bit or nip, this is more of problem for my son then me. Other then these things WJ is a good dog. Ross |

Congratulations Ross on your gorgeous little houndie. Looks like WJ is all bassett, the lazing around, the HUGE food bowls, papers everywhere, not a spot of furniture unoccupied by a puppy, the upside down stretches in the bed, yup, no doubt about it, you have one amazing baby bassett. Welcome from Saskatchewan.

Aww, what a sweetie! As far as housetraining- have you tried tying a bell to your door and training him to ring it to go outside? There have been a couple of discussions about this over the past month or two- it's easy to train (take pup to door, say "out" as you hold a treat near the bell- bell rings as he grabs the treat, praise him- you open the door and take him to his potty place-praise praise praise when he does his business-he should soon be ringing the bell to go out)If you do a search on the forum under "poochie bells" you will find the thread- hope this helps.
edited to say- as far as wandering- bassets will follow their nose and lose themselves in no time flat- it's their nature to focus on a scent and keep going- [ February 08, 2006, 09:21 AM: Message edited by: murraysmom ] |

In the future please let us know in advance that you will be showing many photos of a really cute basset puppy. I was late getting to class because I HAD to look at every one and I'm blaming you!
No, I don't believe in taking personal responsibilty if that's what you're asking. ![]() [ February 08, 2006, 08:11 PM: Message edited by: Beverly Anne Cawley ] |
