New basset hound owner

Hi, I'm new here & I'm so glad that I found this site! I've learned so much already. My puppy's name

is Baxter but should've been Trouble!

He's very hyper & I know that's normal but will he calm down in time? Can't wait to meet everyone!

Seriously, Baxter is a good name and bodes well for the future as I named a little bitch we bought in Havoc. She was actually called Emily and I should have stuck with that because H A V O C she was to the point that in the end, I had to rehome her. She was such a sweet little thing, but totally disruptive in our small pack and it all came to a head when she first came into season (she was bought as a show/hopefully breeding girl) and totally refused to be confined away from the others. I saw her through that, and decided enough was enough. She needed more individual attention and went off to a couple who had one of my puppies - she was fine!

Anyhow, although I've only been around here, occasionally, for a sort time, I can welcome you to this place.

Warning - it's not going to stop with just one

Welcome to the forum...Barney's two and am still waiting for the "mystery dog" who is laid back. Only time he seems to be mellow is when I tell him to do something..he's extremely mellow then....just looks at me and may or may not do what I asked. He has to think it over for an extremely long time...guess that's laid back.

Howdy and welcome to the group! "will he calm down in time?" Yes - Anytime soon? Nope - but have fun anyway. My two younger ones that are almost two still keep me on my toes.

Ya know we really like photos here - so when you get a chance be sure to post some - we never get enough.
