Default LOST Basset $1000 Reward in Texas

Peggy was rescued as part of a bonded pair, and was adopted out to Rockwall, TX. She got out of her yard a week ago and has not been seen since.

We followed her scent with a tracking dog to the far eastern part of Rockwall, TX near Fate but still no sign of her. She could be anywhere by now.

She is a tri-color basset mostly white, female, adult.

There is a $1000 REWARD offered for her return.

If you have any info please contact me here or the Collin County Humane Society: Collin County Humane Society - Animal Rescue in North Dallas

There is also a phone number in the attached photo of her where you can reach her former foster mom who is leading the search.

For anyone in the DFW area they are having more searches this weekend. If you have horses that would help because they are planning on searching the many fields in the rural area she was lost. Contact the number in the photo for more info.

Would she know enough to find her way back to your place - or would she try to get back to her previous home? Hounds will often back-track so it's worth leaving something with your scent on out where she was last seen, although if she escaped from your home ??? Another trick which is a tad 'disgusting' is to collect some of your urine and take it out, leaving some drops back from where the scent ended?

Another thing, if she had a buddie, if you've not done this already, take him/her out when you go looking, calling her. Unfortunately when dogs go out into the wild, they do tend to 'go wild' and need some coaxing to come out from where they have got to. And she may come if she sees/hears her buddie, more than for you.

Also, contact your local radio station - hopefully they have a segment for lost or founds and should include her. Spread the word. Postie are useful sources of information - they know where new dogs have turned up, in case somebody has taken her in.

I hope she comes back, which she may, yet.

I'll keep an eye out here in East TX in case someone picks her up and transports her/tries to sell her.

Have you reported her to Lost Dogs of Texas? http://www.facebook.com/findtexasdogs

She is not my dog nor my foster, but she came from the same rescue that Lila did, is why I am helping. Yes she has been reported to the Lost Dogs page.

There has not been a single sighting of her, so we suspect someone has her. My suspicion is someone picked her up to breed, and will probably dump her once they realize she is spayed.

Thanks for the help.
