Anyone else watch the dog show tonight? Tiger the Basset Hound is such a handsome guy, jolly and jowly- just like we like them!

Can't believe he didn't take the Hound group, but I'm sure it must have been only cause the judge felt sorry for the other guy, teehee. You know, since Bassets have the looks AND personality.

Yep, Mr. Tiger came in second in the group. Good show! I love his name (GCh Topsfield Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Mo; his call name is Tiger- so cute!!). I stalked the Topsfield Bassets' website for a while and it was really impressive to read their history. Moses and Clementine watched the program with me and they got an extra treat to celebrate

They always seem to Dis the bassets. I think you are right, they feel sorry for the other hounds that don't have the looks and personality!

I just watched the Breed judging - to be honest, much as her colour didn't do much for me, I liked that BoBac bitch!! And I'm a sucker for a dark tri. I was concerned to see those (males, not that bitch) present did have rather soft toplines, in the stack. That looked okay in the go around however. Interesting to note two Lyn Mar hounds entered - I'll have to go back to figure out which was which because obviously apart from the winning handler who was around in my time out there (even if slightly less heavy

) I didn't know anybody else.

I was confused about the single dog in the ring at the start of judging, thinking they only have Specials at Westminster. On checking the entries however, I see he was in Open which explains why he was tagged on the end of the line in the Specials class.

I was interested/pleased to note this year, that Bassets seem to have regained some of their size/substance, which seemed to be rather lacking in recent years.

I love how the hounds went round the ring and straight up the ramp!! I wish we could show on ramps/boxes in the UK. We tried this one year at the BHC Champ show but were severely told off by the KC afterwards. Makes far more sense to show on them - speaking as one with a bad back after all these years with Bssets

Edit - Looking back at the entries, I see both BoBac hounds were shown as born in 2002..... surely not!!?
Edit 2 - Didn't like that Group winer - wasn't that back roaching? Good to see the UK bred Grif. did well!
