Default Downton Abbey

The kitchen maid takes offense at the footman following the new kitchen girl, Ivy, "like a basset hound".
I find this objectionable, on behalf of basset hounds everywhere.
Bassets have better taste.
Although...she is the kitchen girl...she may have the inside track on goodies...
Francis's (ATB 8/8/11) Bevy
And now Albert's Bevy.

Loved hearing that. My wife and I are Downton junkies and we laughed when we heard that line!

I missed that comment but I get really annoyed at that sort of throw-away remark. Not quite the same but I was watching a quiz show here (Eggheads - UK) the other week when one question went along the lines of "What is the St.Hubertus hound behind". Choice, the Bloodhound, the Basset Hound and the Greyhound. The answer "well the only one of those three that's a hunting hound is the Bloodhound, that's my answer" Yeah right!! I was so tempted to write in, but there's no point!!

I am a Downton Abbey fan however!

my peeples are Downton Abbey fans!! they just started. they finished Season 1 and on Season 2 now, and are taping Season 3. We look forward to hearing that line sometimes.

it's a little soap-opera-ish for me however. i'd rather be watching sports. so i usually snoozes on the couch while they watch.
see what the Worm is up to:

Hahaha I love Downton Abbey but somehow missed that line! I'm sure it would be for the goodies though!

I watch it on Netflix, so all I've seen so far is the first 7 episodes....waiting and waiting for more to become available there.

Great series, wonderful costumes, but what is that yellow lab doing in the opening credits???? At very least we should have foxhounds and Bassets!
That comment about the footman looking like a Basset was interesting. People tell me our dog looks sad, but I think Rose is beautiful, and all Bassets are beauties. Sad? Nope!
