I love that pic of Dexter and Deela! It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland when she met the blue caterpillar - both tall and small

I think they do vary so much. We walk with our local branch of the Basset Hound Club in the UK once a month. We average around 35 Bassets. The difference in size and build is amazing, although as others have said, they are all Bassets! Our male Basset is 30.4kg and our female 30.6kg (only so accurate as I had them weighed today at the vets). Our female is slightly smaller but has more loose skin on her than our male who is from the hunting strain and is not very wrinkly at all. Both my Bassets are just over 2 years old. As long as your Basset is healthy that's all that matters. I think a lot of people come up and say how big they are as many people have this idea Bassets are not a big dog due to their height, whereas they are sometimes a very large dog but just with little legs! :-))

Weighed Deela this morning, she is 57.4 lbs (26 kgs). Not fat.

Goodness Dexter and Xena look nothing alike. I did see Xena at Christmas time on a card sounds like she's doing well.

Coopers dad was very big and heavy but looked trim? Can't wait for our little monster to be that big!

Both our female and male bassets are 70lbs.
"Midge" our female is on the couch and the other pic is of our male "Jasper" :-)

Cute hounds. I had one that weighed 75 lbs once but she was over weight everyone in town fed her.
