I don't know if it's just my Basset, but he LOVES to be high up. I discovered his love for climbing when he decided to start hiking it up the back of our recliner to get on TOP of our kitchen counters. When we moved the chair out of our dining area, he then was able to still climb up the back of it and jump from the top of it to the breakfast bar. Needless to say, I quickly squelched that for him and now he has had to resort to occassional climbs on the dining room table, the toilet, and any chairs that are available. He also likes to lay along the top of our section (and did the same when we were with relatives for Thanksgiving).
So...anyone else have a climber? |

Barney will climb up the back of sofas and chairs but thank heavens doesn't use the perch to jump anywhere. He has never tried (knock on wood) to climb the fence so I feel ahead of the game.

LOL Hmmm...that looks like such a familiar sight!
Arthur's favorite is laying along the top of the sectional to look out our huge picture windows towards the backyard. The funniest position he's been in, though, was on top of a console TV that sat by our front door (don't ask why) so he could peek through the slats of the wood blind that covers the windows. |

[QUOTE=Mikey T;155961]I don't know a basset that does not secretly wish to be taller.
QUOTE] Ha! Yes, I've always figured that Arthur has a complex about his shortness. In fact, he also goes CRAZY when around dogs bigger than him and thinks he's just as big as they are...including the mastif that lives next door.
