Lisa and joey

Well we were up alllll last night coz joey had sickness and diarrhoea bless him, I felt so sad.
Today he hasn't ate anything and has been in his bed all morning...not like him at all!
The other day on our walk in the park he picked up some mouldy bread yuk yuk I'm thinking that its upset his belly.
He is soooo feeling sorry for himself it makes me want to cry lol xxx

Poor little Joey hope he will be ok. There bad these bassets they will eat any and everything.

I hope Joey will be feelng better soon. Our first Basset, Bubba ATB, picked up a moldy bone on a camping trip and ended up with a bacterial infection. Same symptoms as Joey. Antibiotics fixed him up.

Aww thank you guys, the vet gave him a jab to make him feel better also some food to settle his stomach but he's not interested in any food at the moment. He's having lots of rest though. I hope he gets his appetite back tomorrow.

Aww hope the little guy starts to feel better soon, Bella was shocking for having an upset tummy when she was little, I fed her boiled chicken and rice, and scrambled egg used to go down well for a few days afterwards.

The thing with her though was that she liked to plain diet too much and then wouldn't eat her puppy food. I've got her on Nature Diet food now and she's not had any problems since, we stopped getting her raw bones from the butchers though as they make her sick for some reason.

I really stress the importance of the Leave command if he's been picking up food from outside, it takes a while but Bella leaves anything that may be lying on the paths and parks when we're out walking as soon as she's told to now. Although she did have a slip up last week, somebody had dropped half a sausage roll, and it disappeared so quickly it was like magic.

He's better today, back to his usual self chewing on my poor hands and he also got up for his morning walk and enjoyed that too. He's still not touching his food yet though or wanting any human food either.
How long do they usually go off their food for after tummy upset? He's lost his cute pot belly xxx

Try boiling ground beef, to get the fat and grease off it, and crumble it up with cooked white rice. Easy on the tummy and Bogie loves it. Feed this in several small meals, about four X a day, for a day or two then start adding your regular kibble and downsize the beef/rice mixture, slowly, until back on regular food. If still not eating in a day contact the Vet. Puppies can go down hill rapidly when not eating. Is he drinking?? If not contact your vet right away!!!
