Obviously the "idea" of bassets being lazy and low energy came from someone who never actually has been owned by a basset!

Ellie (5 mo) is a ball of energy, if she is no asleep, she is going full tilt! Jake has slowed a bit, of course he is 13 yo so he deserves some quiet time, however, he still has his moments!

I have only owned one boy and 2 girls, but Jake is my "Drama Queen". He whines, he howls... sometimes I can get to the root of it with the "key" words... Eat, Outside... other times, it is a complete mystery!

Ellie barks and whines when she wants a playmate... human or hound!

Have to disagree with the jealousy thing. I think they do get jealous. Both try to "hone in" on the others attention time with mom or dad.
