Sports medicine and physical therapy are relatively new areas in the veterinary field. Our expert guest on Saturday’s show was Dr. James Cook, co-founder of the Canine Orthopedic Laboratory at the University of Missouri. Dr. Cook discussed with our listeners some of the advancements in the specialty of sports medicine. He also discussed the benefits of physical therapy in pets in both with recovery from surgical conditions and improvement in the symptoms associated with arthritis.
