Bella is getting quite vocal and what always astounds me is her ability to finish every arguement by having the last word.
For example: She will bark to tell me something, If I ignore her she barks louder, when I then tell no, or "enough" there is always an answering "ruff", so I'll finish with a "go away" or "out" and she'll have to finish on a muted "ruff". It happens every time, mostly happens when she wants something out of the drawer she knows I keep her treats in. Does anybody else argue with their hounds and who has the last word?

How cute. Edee doesn't argue with words but with her body, she is always in the way and when I tell her to move she manages to bump me one last time before moving on. But in 5 minutes, guess who's back. A constant struggle!

Lula really puts up a fuss - we keep toys and treats in the utility room. The older she gets the more demanding and she shouts at the door. She'll sit up and beg and shout. We try to ignore her but it is hard... after shouting and sitting up on her backside she comes over and paws us with an "ohh pleeasseee" wining. We melt and she always gets her way.

I have accepted the fact that I am merely "staff" to the hounds.
Life is much easier once you accept your position.

Turtle is very vocal, she talks all the time. Not necessarily the last word type of talking just talking. But if she is not happy she will do a uh oh type of sound it is to funny.
Now at feeding time it is deafening at our house. Both her and Maddie will bark and bark at me till they get fed. I should do a video of it but I wouldn't know how to post it. The 2 big dogs are nice and quiet so maybe it is a hound thing. There not hounds. |
