This is my dog Daisy Mae. I adopted her from the Humane Society a few months ago and was told she was either full basset or possibly a basset/labrador or retriever mix. Some have said (recently) she looks more like a basset/dachshund (because she is still quite small).
She's just over 6 months and weighs about 26 lbs. She's as sweet as can be and seems to have a basset-like temperament (at least from what I have read), but I've been wondering out of curiosity what kind of mix she is. Any thoughts?? The first picture is her at 8 weeks (when I adopted her) and the others are all fairly recent (about 5-6 months old) Thanks! |

She is very pretty! I don't know what the mix is besides Basset but going by the tail and the colour I would say dachy . Like Herzo said that nose. Also the colour - here in the Uk I see a lot of wire-haired that colour. Congratulations she looks like an angel.

What a beauty!!! Her face looks almost identical to a dachshund that I had...I've gotta go with the people who say it's a doxie.

Oh I love the wired haired Doxies (thanks Barney). We always meet three of them when we go to Hampstead Heath. Absolutely love them - lol very much like Bassets!
To add though they are so much more reserved - the way they wag their tails - it's not that swing... Sorry I went off on one!

I do not think she is mixed with anything ,she looks pure basset just maybe poorly bred. If she were a mix with Dash. I think her legs would be shorter even though some bassets have longer legs. It is because of the longer legs they may think she has lab or ret in her.

kind of agreeing here with Mikey T. and Bubbad
I have one thats part basset and part lab (bassador). Most bassadors look the same. doesn't look a thing like your doggie. Quite a little cutie!!!! Just looks as sweet and cute as can be ![]()
