Saturday is the day that my son spends at his junior conservatoire, 60 miles away. As I drive him there, it is the one day of the week that we are excused hound walking. Every week, on the journey home we wonder what scrapes they have got into this time...
Yesterday, Norman surpassed himself. Remembering the sausages he found in the road the week before, that my husband managed to kick through to the other side of the metal fence (Norman is adopted, and weighed 100lbs when we got him), he broke into a gallop as they approached, and before my husband realised what was happening, he found he was holding the lead of a basset with his head stuck in the railings. Fortunately he is a strong guy, and managed to pull them apart to free him, only to spend the next 20 mins with a sulking flat basset gazing reproachfully at him. I think next weekend he may volunteer for driving duties lol. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

LOL lost sausages on the street - a hound's dream
![]() Izzy found one in the park not too long ago - one of those pale fleshy looking ones. When I saw it hanging out of her mouth I thought she had someone's finger

OMG - LMAO - That was funny - sounds like maybe we should get our hubby's together and they'd really come back with some adventure stories.
You’re guy hit gold getting that sausage - I’d think that he’d be chomping at the bit every day to go for his walk just in case there was another sausage with his name on it. My girl didn’t find anything as good as a sausage – but once years ago – middle of winter after a big snow here in Chicago – and after everything was plowed so there were big mounds of snow next to the sidewalk – hubby was out walking Flash – and all of a sudden she put on her breaks – stuck her nose straight in the air – then dive bombed the mound of snow – and came up with a bagel in her mouth. She was so proud of herself ![]() Jen~
