I almost named her...

All this Humperdink vs Wesley talk reminded me that Princess Buttercup was almost Agent 99. I still love that name but PB is sooo Princess Buttercup I can't imagine her as a secret agent. What did you almost name your hound?

Rosco was almost Radar, Flip flop or whiplash. All our other dogs were rescues so we just stuck with the names they had (since they weren't ridiculous or stupid).

Love the name Humperdink (don't know the film?). Tallulah was named Charlotte for a few days after Charlotte Rampling and my favourite book as a kid Charlotte's Web but it just didn't suit her...she's much more a Tallulah.

Norman was named Newton when he was adopted, but that lasted only one day. He answered to Norman better than any other N name.

Jake was always going to be "Jake". Hubby didn't realized I wanted to name a girl Jake so he got me a boy for Christmas. I just think it is an excellent basset name.

Ellie was nearly Sara (after my mom, Saranne) But we ended up with Ellie... One of the girls at the office has a boxer named Sara. Funny thing is tho' part of her mother's name is Ellie. Didn't realize it until I really looked at her AKC papers a couple weeks later when I went to register her.

I love Jake to pieces, but I think I will have girls from here on out. I think they are easier to train... OR he could just be a stubborn SOB! He is actually "trained" but he will pee outta spite or dominance. He can be a shit, but I adore him!

Oh jen this makes me laugh!! Lula is the same, when we got Margs she took one look at her and went and peed in our bed. That told us...tx

No matter what our basset babes do, it is awful hard to get mad or stay mad... they look up with those soulful eyes and sad faces... who can be cross!
