Yea, I agree Mikey T, I did a lot of research before I got Hoss and what I read was that they are trainable, however, they do not respond well to "Traditional" training. I looked around and was lucky to find a trainer that raises Bassets and has trained them for rabbit hunting as well as field trials. She is a really great trainer and made sure that she showed us how to tweak the basic techniques to be basset specific. I plan on taking him through intermediate training with her as well.

Hoss congrats on scoring the bully stick and training your human to say sit, down, stay, heel, etc. and to give you treats when you preform them. I don't understand why the human cant just give me the treat--- Norman
