Thanks MikeyT I really didn't know they could be easier than beagles.

a lot easier for me anyway. I just look at agility 3 beagles and a harrier nothing higher than a novice title 4 basset three running at top level Massters/excellent and one retired early.

Thanks guys – Can’t wait to take Mabel in February – have to find her a new outfit for her graduation day – Hubby is already telling me not to add too much pressure on Mabel to do as well as Page did.

@Mikey T: agree about the beagle comment. I had 4 beagles one of which was easy to train... the other 3, happy little hounds who politely declined to follow the training.

Have found our bassets very easy to train

Personally I think it is easier to train a basset than a person
