Shipping puppies

Hi!
I'm planning to get a puppy probably in January. I notice there is a lot of puppies available around Christmas time which I to early for me. I know some ppl ship puppies and I'm wondering what are you thinking about that. I'm new to dig world and have no idea what to think about that.

The best place to start looking is your local/regional Basset Hound Club and they can advise you of breeders in your state so not necessary to ship. Personally - especially being a newbie it's good to meet the breeder see their dogs and puppies and have a good chat.

My first choice is to go and pick up a puppy by myself but I'm afraid there won't be any puppy's available in January. That's why I'm exploring every options available. Shipping is a little bit extraordinary for me that's why I need any opinion.

Actually, good breeders will not be selling their puppies at Christmas, so if they have pups that are ready around that time they will hold on to them until January.

I'm glad u point that out. I think I will be looking and not be in a rush. It's hard thou if you want a dog so badly as I do

Unfortunately it's not a coincidence that puppies are plentiful at Christmas.
It's great you're looking now so you can find a puppy from a good breeder and you might have to wait... Buying your puppy from a responsible breeder gives you lifelong advice, support and a great friend especially as you can talk about your hounds nonstop!

That's true

I don't have her yet but I talk about her non stop. At black Friday I'm planing to buy some essentials: Crate, bedding, leash with collar etc.

Definitely there is no point in being in a rush. After all, you hopefully will have your Basset for at least 12-13 years. Take the time to make sure you are getting one from a good source.

Did somebody say black friday?!! Petco is giving antlers away. Antlers are essential for holiday pawtys you know. Crate, leash, collar/harness, hide a squirrel squeaky toy, blankies, bed, dishes, peanut butter TREATS, & antlers.
