Should I wake a sleeping puppy up to potty right before I leave the house?

I say yes to waking a sleeping puppy or adult dog for a potty trip if it's going to be a while before their next chance to go out. So whether it's because you're leaving or going to bed, go ahead and do it. They shouldn't have any trouble getting back to sleep, and then there won't be a puddle to clean up when you get back. Molly goes to bed before I do, and I wake her up every night to go out before I go to bed so she won't be getting me up at 4 am.

Thanks Wioleta and Bella's mum! I have been doing that but suddenly wondered if I am being weird or "humanizing" the dogs. I woke Emma up to potty right before I left to pick the kids up from school and she did whine when I took her back in. That's why I wonder if I should even bother to wake her in the first place. Thanks for sticking with me on this!!
