I can have a bag of trash sitting in the kitchen tied closed waiting for Mr. San to carry out in the morning, and Maddie never touches it. I feel so lucky, but am also wondering if our Basset is some kind of mutant, albeit a wonderfully behaved one, lol. I think if she did start trying to get in the trash, I would have to put the container in the garage.

My kitchen trash can is a tall (heavy) wooden deal that you can put kitchen bags in. So far, no problems. My brother made it for me years ago when I only had a cat that was a dumpster diver. He varnished it inside and out and makes it really easy to clean!

Speaking of WMD's, daddy bagged a deer and cooked up some bits for the dogs after he finished processing it and putting it in butcher paper. Mixed some meat and juice with their food last night... they loved it.... it didn't love them! The gas, OMG!!! They almost became Outdoor dogs last night! Plus they were up about every 3 hrs with the squirts (all back to normal now)....no more venison!

He's become a gas bomb. He's still smelling horrific. His poo is slowly getting more solid. I have to wear a mask to clean it up.

Worm and Maddie are mutants, btw I seem to remember something else they had in common, like leash pulling? knock on wood, we haven't had to make any changes to our trash since Worm came along. it sits there open in the kitchen and bathroom. but he is getting close.

he's never knocked the trash over or really gotten into it. but i caught him licking a meat foam tray that was hanging out the side (mmm... raw chicken!). and he was standing next to the can with his head cocked and nose pointed up, sniffing the drained beef fat in the trash. probably the day of reckoning is coming lol....

poor Gandy and poor you! hope he feels better soon. Bella, Worm give you a hi five for being a WMD. btw, what is an "OH"??? sounds like it means what we'd call a 'significant other' here in the States... but we couldn't decipher it.

We keep our trash and recycling containers under the sink in the kitchen - I think it would be too much of a temptation for Maddie if they sat out all the time, especially open! She's good as gold, but Maddie isn't perfect!
