Personally, in my experience, my dogs know when I am sick.

Sophie (now AT would hold it as long as possible and just snuggle with me.

Jake, a natural snuggler, doesn't normally sleep with me, but if I am sick, he is right there in the bed to keep me warm.

Abby (AT snuggled no matter what. Just 24/7.

Ellie... its only been 2 wks and I have not been ill... her reaction is yet to come.

@ Olive... I hope your are better soon!
@ Lucia... I hope your "flare up" ends quickly!

Thanks, everybody And Lucia, I'm not too familiar with Lupus, but I'm very familiar with MS and I know that "flare up" doesn't come close to describing what you're going through. I hope you feel better soon, lovely!

I should bite my tongue. While Olive is not very sensitive to my ailments, she is protective. My husband was frustrated with a house project for awhile today and even though it was a temporary problem not directed at me, I was still on edge and uncomfortable. Olive sat guard over me the whole time. I was still sick and unable to do much. Hubby was putting off some less than groovy vibes and she definitely picked up on it. She even curled up next to me, putting herself between me and the door. She never left. Chalupa the Doxie laid right up against my other side, so I felt like I had little doggie bodyguards! :P

Olive is a jerk...and my little angel

hey, me too, Olive! my sicko person hasn't taken me out ALL day. it's almost already 3pm here. so then i has to act like a bad dawg by eating the mail (the person said lucky for me it wasn't mail she wanted) and attacking her 'feel trial' boots. fortunately, i hears my Auntie M coming to take me away so my person can get a break from me. yipeeee!

Now I feel kinda lucky that Frida is quite compassionate when I've been sick (thankfully not often) - but recently I had a bad sinus infection and was in horrible pain for several days (because Im a dummy and didnt go to the doctor quickly enough) - and Frida was lovely, she would come and sit next to me, if I was laying down (or in bed) then she would come snuggle close and touch forheads with me.
